Frank Thomas Become HEL UK Distributors
Following a management buy-out of Frank Thomas Holding Ltd in May 2003, the group is looking to consolidate its future, and in order to gain access into other market sectors has acquired UK distributor Lintek. They already own the very successful brands of Frank Thomas, Motrax and Bike Zone.
The purchase is being backed by ABN AMRO Capital and Barclays Bank. Paul Moxon, ABN AMRO Capital spokesman said: "The acquisition of a quality motorcycle parts company was always part of the Group plan when conducting the management buy-out, and we are delighted this has happened within only six months.
The acquisition of Lintek creates new opportunities for the Group, and positions them strongly as the leading (UK based) supplier of motorcycle clothing, accessories and parts."
Lintek (established in 1975) is a leading distributor of branded parts and accessories including HEL brake lines, Bridgestone, Continental and Michelin tyres, Ferodo brake pads, Silkolene oil, EK chain and the FM helmet brand. The Frank Thomas Group incorporates clothing company Frank Thomas Ltd, Motrax Ltd and Bike Zone Ltd, owners of the Lewis brand of clothing. The management team (led by Peter Laughton) is being strengthened further with the appointment of Financial Director Paul Cook and Chairman David Bernstein.
